Engineers Without Borders at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (EWB-UIUC) is a student-run chapter of Engineers Without Borders USA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to using engineering to improve quality of life in communities worldwide. Our diverse team of student engineers collaborates on sustainable, community-driven projects that address basic human needs including clean water access, infrastructure, and educational outreach. Through hands-on international and domestic projects, we develop socially responsible engineers with strong leadership skills and a personal understanding of global issues.

UIUC EWB Science & Engineering Competition is part of the World STEM League. In the League, students compete across multiple competitions throughout the League Year, allowing them to:

• practice repeatedly
• track their improvement over time
• collaborate with teammates across competitions

This creates a cycle of growth: compete, learn, refine, and improve.
